As announced in last weekend's bulletin, I have asked Jim Van Straten, a SJN parishioner, to present a talk on his recently published book "A Different Face of War" on Thursday evening, November 17th at 6:30 p.m. in the Scott Room of the Family Center. I have personally read the book and can tell you that it presents a compelling and fascinating look at a little known aspect of the Vietnam War. If you have any interest in American history, or want to know more about our military's humanitarian efforts during that divisive and tragic war, you'll appreciate this special presentation. I have asked Jim to have books available for sale at the event. The purchase price will be $25.00 per book which is about $10.00 less than the publisher's asking price. The event will be open to the public so you may invite non-parishioners if you wish.
