Belize Mission Trip – 2013
On this year’s week-long mission trip, eleven out of the twelve participants that made the journey to Belize were from St John Neumann Catholic Church, to include the Pastor. The participants assisted a local contractor in preparing the dirt floor in a home for cement flooring. The missioners worked very hard; first they wheel-barrowed in fill-dirt and spread it out throughout the home. Then numerous heavy loads of cement had to be hauled in by wheelbarrow. A cement ramp was added to the entryway to help the homeowner more easily transport her bedridden mother to and from her daily doctor’s appointments. The missioners also helped distribute warm meals to the home-bound as well as delivered other goods and much needed supplies at two local schools. Missioners also spent the day with the students of the Little Flower Catholic School, in Punta Gorda, Belize—evangelizing and spreading God’s love by serving our poor and marginalized brothers and sisters.
